Internet Cash Flow

Filed under: Life — jmac @ 4:37 pm

Just got back from a 90 minute seminar on internet marketing. Really a promotional seminar for their full day one. This was free and included lunch, that one is $20.

How do they make their fortunes? $2500 per year on hosting if you go with them. We charge $130-250 for basically the same service. (I don’t know the specifics of theirs, hence the range on my quote).

I really wanted to run (ok, walk, my back is killing me) to the front and scream “DON’T DO THIS!!!!!” but resisted because I have ethics. Ethics also caused me to not hand out business cards. Ethics also caused me to decide not to offer a similar seminar and make a fortune.

Last night, Nick asked if my ethics bothered me. I joked a bit, but said no. Today I am rethinking that.

New Photo Gallery feel free to leave comments and what not. Also has slideshow and ecard functionality. I’m going to try to keep this down to shots I think are really really cool so stuff will come and go.

This is why I don’t buy CDs

Sony Cracks your computer

Because the way to prevent copyright violations is to prevent people from buying the CDs in the first place. Yes, this makes marketing sense to someone somewhere.

To follow-up yesterday’s rant, they are probably going to open another timeslot of the class. At a time perfect for me. Assuming this happens I will cease complaining about CBC for a day or two.

On to the news:
